not sure if you are in USA. here we only have 97 and 96 TT's.

The 96 ecu is not reprogrammable. The 97 ecu can be reprogrammed for performance upgrade purposes. Also the 97 is supposed to have a SLIGHTLY stouter first gear shaft in the gearbox. (You can still tweak it if you do dump-clutch starts.) I think the 97s also can have rain sensing wipers and self dimming mirrors and a little light over the ignition that the 96s do not have.

I LOVE my horn, it sounds like it belongs in a little 60's beetle out of a cartoon, it sounds loud to me, I don't know if this is the "good" or the "bad" horn but i dig the cookyness of it (mines a 96 tt BTW)

TT"S" models were sold in the USA in 1997 and 1998. There were no "normal (non-"S")" turbos sold in 1998. There were very few genuine TT"S" models (~250) produced, and they are highly valued by collectors.
