Default Anyone install Tubos S front spoiler?

I just purchased a used S spoiler on Ebay. Is their a DIY thread for a Turbo S front spoilerinstallation. Is it glued on, what type of glue is used and screws anywhere? Please post pics if you have them. TY

Not much help, as I had my shop attach mine, but there is a special high-strength German glue that must be used to attach the lip to the underside of the front spoiler.

The original S-spoiler has two fastening screws on each side, a hole has to be drilled in the existing
spoiler on each side, the glue I used was a windscreen glue, if you look on the inside of the spolier you
see were to put it, I applied it around the edges on the inside, one tip is to remove the frontmask and
put on a table, since it´s much easier to make it fit good and then put some weights on while the glue
dries, on the underside I only used the screws. I guess one could put glue there also but I don´t think
it should be necessary. Good luck.

Verboten:

Had I known more about the "S" spoiler, I would have skipped it. I started with new, OEM pieces, "S" chin spoiler and a euro bumper cover.

Eventhough we did everything by the book, the fit is not up to the rest of the car. After looking at several "real" S's, they fit about as good as the job I did.

FWIW, I dislike mine enough I have not installed it on the car...

Hey guys. The guy whom I bought my car from had the Turbo S front lip installed, but the installers were unhappy with the results from using the factory's typical glue set up. I do not know what he used (Pete, chime im if you're out there) but they did a fantastic job. The fit is very tight, it looks great and allopen areas between the lip and the bumper were filled with some type of material tp make it air tight.

If I can get more info, I will post it.

Thanks Robert:

I have been thinking about some sort of "goop" to aid the setup. Some close up pix or info would be a big help.

Regards

Based on the comments in this thread, it sounds like the S spoiler screws/glues onto the existing lower spoiler? In other words, it does not "replace" any existing parts?

That is corect, Tom. It basically attaches to the existing bumper. I was curious about that as well until I got one.

Because the fit is so lousy, I rivited it on(2 each side) with the intent of removing the rivets when I got it to the paint shop. It's my hope that the spoiler will mold to the shape of the original bumper after a few weeks/months of exposure. Since I'm tracking it these days, it will have to wait a few months before I get it there.....

I should add to my earlier post, which was only to point out the special adhesive, that we also inserted four screws. My Euro bumper and spoiler lip (sourced from Gert) fit together fine and have had no issues. I also have the front protection bar underneath.

JR- love that fat rubber in your picture.

Default Why not Liquid Nails?

Leave it to my brother to come up with a possible simple solution. Any thoughts?

I wonder how the urethane would react and how my car would feel having something made in the USA on it?

John, do you know the offsets? I'm going to try to fit the same size tires to my 9 and 11's after I get done with my set of Dunlops.
