Default Factory air box or Pod filter

I have a broken catch at the back of the factory air box. So I am considering wether to replace the box or put a cone pod air filter on.

Any comments/opinions on which is better way to go?

Keep the factory setup, heat will be your worst enemy.

I have always been a big advocate of this, however when I did my turbo upgrade, I did some temperature testing: pod vs factory airbox.
The results were interesting.

Results in summary:
- engine bay temperature build up whilst idling, and after shut down is eyeboggling.
- engine bay temperature comes back to "normal" within 30sec of doing 60kph
* all temps measured at pod and factory filter.

I really should really dig up all my data and produce a table.
There were some other interesting results in there that have slipped my [feeble] mind :P
