3 spoke steering wheel
Hi everyone I finally found a 3 spoke steering wheel off of a 996 for my 96 TT, It was rather expensive at $400 but I've seen them go for more also, it's a take off and includes the airbag and i'm looking forward to putting it on. Anyone have any tipps on the install ?Thanks, Doug

I found the steering wheel & air bag for sale on ebay and the auction had just started and was at $167, it was a buisness that had it for sale so I called them up and asked them if they had a 3 spoke wheel for my 96 TT and just happened to get the guy that had the wheel up for auction and he told me he had it on ebay so I asked him how much they usually went for he said he didnt know but figured $300 to $400 so I told him I would give him $400 and he said OK So thats how I got my steering wheel Doug

Hey, now we have choices. ..and the best to those who take advantage of the options. Not that it matters but I am not against the trend, just a matter of personal preference on a very subjective matter. Not all 996 things look bad on a 993; it is just that a few of them seem to look particularly out of place (for example the handsome carbon 996 shifters dont do it for me on a 993 since they are too "thick").
TB993tt, are you one of the last of the TT owners from the days of the old board (old format). I think Anir, Dick in TN and I were around and perhaps a couple of others who frequented less often.

[I changed to a 996 3 spoke with silver crest ......to match the silver faced gauges ]

this is the one upgrade that i have really struggled with... problem with AJUSA/FVD models is that there is nothing on the airbag cover...just black... i think that looks weird...there should be something there...
i looked closely at this steering wheel during a recent visit at RUF...they let me take it into my car to see how it looked with the interior...color matched perfectly, and it actually looked a bit "old school" in the car... in the following picture, its part of a more modern scheme, but it looks equally well in the 993...
two problems 1) i dont own a RUF, so feels a little sell-out... 2) its $1500...ridiculous

Ken, is that a 996tt steering wheel in carbon, never seen one.
OT: Couldn't help but notice in the foreground your modified cell phone consule. Got one too and considering its removal, what did you do, can you private me some pix.
Now back to thread, no hi-jack intended.....
