Default Improving cooling with more effective fan

Sorry if this has been covered before but is there a reason for using an 2nd oil cooler (more hardware/weight etc.) to improve cooling rather than just having an improved/more efficient/continuously variable speed fan? Would seem to me to be an easier upgrade to upgrade the fan than installing a second oil cooler.

It is a matter of adding more surface area, and it is more efficient to get to a better result with two coolers. And since the car is set up left and right, it is easier to just add the 2nd cooler. VS making a new bumper covers to mount one large cooler up front.. If you install a big fan, you are limited with the amount of air that can actually get over to the cooler core. With the car setup to have the airstreams pass on either side, you will get more cold air passing over two cores vs trying to speed up the air.

Fans are real wimpy vs. even moderate speed normal airflow. TTs don't have any trouble overheating in stop and go traffic, which is where the fan is effective.
