Cutting Turbo S Ducts (Rear Fenders)
To continue with the thread earlier re: the front bumper cover ducts, do the rear fender ducts on the S actually feed the engine bay or perhaps the rear brakes? I suspect that they are not just for show but I could be wrong...
The reason I'm asking is that I'm considering doing some type of forced induction on my C4S and would entertain the idea of cutting the rear fenders and ducting the output to the engine... plus it just looks plain badass!
Anyone have any experience with the stock TS ducts or cutting the widebody fenders and retrofitting functional ducts?
TIA

im 99.9% certain that the stock turbo S fender kit is all for show and the vents go, well, nowhere. i guess its all about the drama.
But as many track cars have air intakes thru the rear windows, perhaps you can fabricate the S ducts to sent air to the intercooler.

If forced induction is what you want, you'd be better off using a Turbo S tail and using the inlet scoop to feed your air intake, better yet would be a GT2 tail with twin inlets..

Isn't the whole grilled area above the tail high pressure? Seems like it's forced induction the way it comes without modification. On a semi related note, if you put the Turbo S "lip" on the front spoiler, do you need the S tail to balance the aerodynamics? I remember all the 80s 911s with added whale tails and no corresponding front spoiler getting pretty light in the front at speed.

By forced induction I meant a supercharger or turbocharger. I'm just trying to get more air to the intake to maximize the benefits of the forced induciton unit. Plus I've always liked the way those rear fender scoops looked. I don't really like the looks of any tail so I'm trying to keep the smooth look of the naturally aspirated cars. I'm leaning toward the TPC supercharger.

Tech Law,I just did that, and the looks are awsome,I'm ducting air to the rear brakes, for intake air it is best to use the GT-2 tail and hose the air to the turbos I did just that and there is a noticiable difference at 80mph and over, you can get the intakes from Porsche(in steel) or from Getty design in fiber.cheers,Sonny.

Awesome pictures. I was wondering how much clearance I would have under there. I might try and feed the ducts into the engine bay and feed the intake.
Anyone have a URL for Getty Design - a search turned up nothing useful.

Thanks for those pictures, I was wondering where the ducts vented within the arch.
I must confess to going into the garage at night and shining a torch through the ducts to try and work out where they went, sad but true!
