In preparation for an upcoming DE, I've been driving my car in a little more spirited manner and am noticing a honking or resonance from the left cylinder bank when I drop off the throttle rapidly. The engine makes the full 0.8 boost without any problems.
Any ideas relating to the cause would be appreciated.

I'd bet your BOV's are leaking and in need of replacement.
Billet ones are available that are more durable than the OEM plastic ones. You can give me a call if you need further info.

The honking sound typically is the Bypass Valve as Steve just mentioned... However, the rubber diaphram can shred and make it into your intake tract and pass into your high RPM'd compressor wheel. Which will turn a perfectly good turbocharger into junk...
