Needle that shows the highest level achieved since the last time the needle was reset, often used on tachs to "tattle" about overrevs.

The rest of the auto world calls this feature "peak hold."

When I ran at Half Moon Bay strip, we didn't have anything like that, but that was before your time, I'm sure.
