I think the price is reasonable, but not soooooo low that I couldn't possibly turn it down. Unfortunately, the extra investment never pays off when you want to sell. The tiptronic is a turn off and I'm not fond of a bunch of wood in a performance car. No offense intended. Now if it was a 6 speed and you wanted $90K tomorrow???????

I think its a great price typically the X50's get a premium price even used. BUT every 996 TT I have seen is Seal Grey is that close to Slate grey? Just curious. But i think that is a good price unless Eric needs to buy it. good luck!

No Seal Grey and Slate Grey are definitely different. Probably just as different as Arctic Silver is from Seal Grey is you were to put them side by side. Slate Grey is much more Charcoal/Titanium metallic in color. It looks amazing.

I think it is a fair price. I guess everyone has their own opinion of a tiptronic, but it definitely changes gears faster and smoother than 99% of manual tranny drivers. That's why Tip 996 TTs always seem to do the 1/4 mile quicker than the manuals tranny 996 TTs.

Eirc- I actually agree and disagree with you. If I were selling the car to a dealer (which will typcially wholesale the car to another dealer), then yes, the extra investment in upgrades and mods do not get a premium. However, I am looking for a buyer who appreciates the extra performance and audio/video upgrades. That type of buyer, if serious, would be silly to pass up a deal like this. I have invested about $40k in upgrades. If you wanted to do it yourself you would have to find a 2002 996TT with 4000 miles for $75k ($115k-$40k) which I don't think you will find.

No doubt slate gray is a marvelous color. And you're right, if someone wanted those upgrades, they would be getting a great deal. I'm sure it's an absolutely great car! If you check ebay (and I'm not saying this is valid or close to being scientific), you'll find generally that the tiptronic cars sell for less than 6 spd cars. You'll also find an 02' GT2 for $135k (MSRP $190k). I would think they'll sell it for $125k-$130k and that would be a great deal as well.

As I said before, I think $115k is a fair price. Having said that, I don't think it's a no brainer, 48 hr, mortgage the house price. Just my .02

Good luck.

Sounds nice. I was looking for a tiptronic for a city car. Park Place has a nice one that had an MSRP of $160k due to instead of wood a carbon fiber interior and an X50 package, with the pricing being similar. And that is a dealer and the car is still there. Nice car.

I can't justify more than $100k though and personally don't like the wood interior as well as carbon or plain.

But if it was under $100k....
