Default Hmm Gas leak/fuel line rot

FYI guys/gals. Our cars are getting to the age we have to keep an eye out for these types of problems. Ethanol may not be helping either. Common to have to check and replace in 928 and older F cars (have had fuel leaks that I've caught on every F car I've owned). Wasn't expecting on our 993tt's. This is the fuel filter to fuel rail line on the right side, by the turbo hose. Fortunately for me I have spare parts and was easy to replace.

Age, heat cycles, maybe ethanol fuels .... not surprising. I saw this on a 964 as well on the return fuel hose that bridges from the engine to the body. Definitely a risk as these cars get older ... good you found it!

Cheers,

it’s this one off the fuel rail to filter 993-110-415-02-OEM, available through the usual places, I’ve seen it for as low as 107 and as high as 163, not bad. Hydraulic place I’m sure could make one too, and plan to get my old one repaired or used as a template to make to have a spare.

Don’t have any personal experience but the fuel rail cross over line (there’s a line that goes between the right and left fuel rails) may be a reasonable one to look at and replace. But looking at the PET and doing searches on parts sites, porsche doesn’t sell that line separately and sells along with the 2 fuel rails (or it’s possible it’s now one unit - the 2 rails and line). Might need to take to a hydraulic place to get one made. The return line off the fuel pressure regulator on the left fuel rail should be low pressure and low risk. The line from the fuel pump to the engine bay has soft tubing on the ends but that one probably isn’t exposed to the heat cycles and vibrations (and looks to be much more work to replace).

Also look at the recently bumped clutch slave/accumulator thread, hydraulic lines would be reasonable to look at, mine failed 2x.
bit of a rabbit hole..
