Noony
Check out the RUF website :
http://www.ruf-automobile.de/english/index1.htm and look under refinements for model details.
Mmmm...RUF Turbo R. There is a black LHD RUF Turbo 993 in the Autotrader at whopping £59K

Thanks, couldn't find the website. I know, that's a beauty. I think £59k is pretty reasonable for that 525hp monster. Thing is, my dad will only have RHD.

I think none of it is necessary.
It's just the dog's proverbials to have!
I suspect you can go with just the engine or as far as you and your bank manager wish to go. I know of an otherwise standard 993tt that has a 520bhp RUF engine. Sort of the ultimate sleeper 993tt if there can be such a thing.

the BTR conversion from a Carrera base is about 40,000 Euro which includes the necesssary changes: engine conversion, spoiler, oil cooler, trans adjustment, speedo adj., certification, wheels, brakes.
BTR conversion can only be done at RUF Automobile, Germany.

Harry, I am certain that a BTR conversion can be done in North America, specifically in Vancouver, B.C. Canada because I know of one car converted by North America's RUF dealer, www.weissach.com
That car I believe went down to Seattle, WA.

Well according to RUF ,in which i emailed about the conversion when i was looking into buying the car CP now owns, they stated that specifically the conversion can only be done in Germany. Only write the facts as i receive them. dont know how to attach a word document if thats even possible but i will post it if there is a way i can?

As far as BTR costs go, here's an extract from the same e-mail from Ruf:
Engine Conversion, incl. Dyno-Test €30,000
6-Speed-Transmission Adjustment €2,200
18“ Ruf Wheel Kit €3,500
(necessary when 16“ Wheels are standard)
BTR Brake System €2,500
993 Turbo Rear Spoiler prices on request
(different options)
Additional Front Oil cooler System €1,700
TÜV-Registration ca. €200
Speedometer Adjustment €250
These items are all described as required for the conversion whereas the Turbo R is more of a case of chose what you like.

So for me in the UK, I can get a 993 turbo for roughly 70k euros, then add:
19k for engine
3.6k for suspension
CTR 2 Front spoiler and rear bumper with chrome tailpipes €4,800
18“- Ruf wheels (8.5“ + 10“ width) €2,600
CTR 2 Shift lever €420
Front shock tower brace in aluminium €300
That comes to 100720 euros. And this would be a great setup. Is the engine 490hp or 520hp, or are there options?
In the UK I can get a 993 carrera for about 40k euros. Then add:

6-Speed-Transmission Adjustment €2,200
18“ Ruf Wheel Kit €3,500

BTR Brake System €2,500
993 Turbo Rear Spoiler 4k or so
Additional Front Oil cooler System €1,700
TÜV-Registration ca. €200
Speedometer Adjustment €250
This comes to 84350 euros. Is it worth paying the extra 15k euros for 100hp? I think so.

Never rode in a Turbo R but for sure know that a converted Carrera to BTR spec is crazy fast. Ask CP if he is out there his BTR is a converted Carrera and it is just awesome.
