RUFs should be street legal in CA. They ship up to 40% of their cars to CA, so they have CA compliant components.
My car is an U.S. spec. C2, so it's a 50 states car. and I passed 2004 smog requirements with flying colors.
If you have an Euro spec. RUF, then I don't know what to say.
Hope this helps.

Ok, do you get to stretch its legs in Welly? It looks a bit dodgy the ruf example I directed you to, like its had a bad repaint. You a PCNZ member? We have a Ruapuna track day in July down here... you should make the trip!

I might be wrong but it might have been in a bad accident ... not 100% sure tho, I didn't do any research on it when I bought mine as I had no interest in a convertable.
Yes I am a PCNZ member ..... never been to Ruapuna ... looks good track on TV. ... would love to come down if I can spare the time.

Hi Guys,
The cab is owned by an Auckland specialist who also owns a car yard. He has owned a viper and GT2 Clubsport in recent times. The guy is an interesting character. The RUF was bought into NZ in 1999 by Giltraps with 190km on it (new) from the Singapore agent. It sat unsold for almost two years before he bought it.
He is a pretty crazy guy and decided that 400 odd hp wasnt good enough so he had turbo technics (Mike) do the remap/Motec and custom turbos. The car has had $50K of mods since he has had it. The head technical guy at Giltraps reconed it was way over the top and quite a handful (read all but impossible unless its dry) to get of the line.
The car has never been in an accident and is in very tidy condition. He advertises it through his car yard (his brother runs it) and would never sell it - its more like free advertising...
The other BTR2 is yellow. It was brought here in 1999 I thnk. the guy who owned it had a major off and alomost died. The car was bought as an insurance wreak by Owen Evans. It has spent the last three years being rebuilt (with a new shell) and is now near completion. I have seen it at Contis being re assembled. It will be like new when finished. I think it might end up being used in the od race...
Cheers
