Default Prototech TT

Hello,

Does anyone know this TT? Or the seller "auctioncorner"? I have seen a number of mods from Prototech on the 964 board but not much else.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEBWA%3AIT

Thanks

Dave

It also has an upgraded intercooler, usually not required on a TT with just an ECU and 424 HP. I wonder if this car had other mods that have been removed prior to the sale? Sure looks nice, with those 19" wheels.

you should check that it is a real TT as opposed to a c4s that had a turbo conversion by prototech .. just a suggestion.

We have found an upgraded intercooler isn't necesarry even above and beyond that HP. We have a 98 993 Turbo S that is a customers car and is kind of an on-going project (the guy just can't have a fast enough car ), which is pushing over 600RWHP with the stock intercooler. Don't get me wrong, the intercooler might help, but just saying its not necesarry .

Just to put some perspective on this for non US Rennlisters - 550 Flywheel HP is about the limit for the stock intercooler if one wants to be able to maintain that power reliably. Anything more will lead to heat problems which currently only the GT2 EVO Secan $10K intercooler is capable of dealing with.
For the US 600RWHP is possible but would soon fade once the thing got hot - also at this level of power the torque will be over 610lb/ft which will bend stock rods so carrillos (or similar) are a must.
good thread about the stress Euro conditions put on tuned motors here: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...72#post1121172

tb, I have to disagree with you on this one. The secan may or not be the best one out there but there are other ic's that can get the job done. I recall when I was in the dyno room many years ago watching my motor being set up and recall the tuner pointing out how little the intake temp would rise. This is on a 700 hp motor that I track the odd time and have never had a heat issu with. I don't think you need to spend 10,000. to get the job done.

In Europe where the GT2 EVOs were heavily raced, this was the only I/C used by ALL the race teams -having said that I can't disbelieve what you have observed. Can you tell me: Is this for a 993tt ? what sort of induction set up do you have, stock mass measuring or the pressure sensing type ? is the i/c a back to front flow or side to side ? which wing does it fit under ?
thanks
Actually it was 10KGPB for the Secan which under current exchange rates is nearly $20K

I stand corrected...by a guy sitting 2 desks over . I have not looked at the car in awhile and could have sworn it was stock, but after looking at it today, I am in fact wrong. You would not believe how stock it does look though
