I believe the S's in the NYT are from Sloan Cars...note the area code was 203 which is CT where he is located...to verify check the number against his site...

yea hes not a collector just a used car salesman.
most of "his inventory" are cars on consignment.
WHen I bought mine from him it took awhile for
me to get the title. Reason was, he did not have it.
Beto just bought a Targa from him and he said he
has to detail it first before shipping it. more likely
he has to go get it. When we were trying to settle
some damage on one of my wheels he told me he
is not a rich man. Well if he owned 5 or 6 TTS's you think
he could pay me $400 for wheel damage. Still hasnt.
and thats not even the whole story!

I have my own Sloan stories as well. He was selling a 99 Gt 3 imported from europe by the guy I bought my flachbau from who later died. His brother sends the Gt 3 to Sloan to sell. Sloan fixes the rather extensive body damage the car had but forgot to tell people who called him on the car that the car had been repaired. I had to call him and remind him the car had damage and needed to be disclosed. I don't know if he remembered to tell other potential buyers.

funny how some things slip people's minds -- especially when they are the sellers. I agree with you all .. he was less than upfront with me on several cars; when I called him on it, he said i was being too literal.

I hate to bad mouth anybody but I have even more stories about this guy. Or experiences would be a better word. I wish their was someway to illuminate people about this guy.

OG, he told you he was not a rich man? When I first spoke to him, he told me he had made his money by selling an electronics company he owned. Of course he didn't tell me the name of it. Anyways, he said he made his money and has always loved Porsches and collected many of them. Thru the years he built relationships in the Porsche world and got into selling Porsches as a passion.
