96 Turbo Insurance
Trying to figure out what to insure my turbo for? Just got a quote back from my insurance and was surprised that they were charging me the same as my 2018 GT3. I do have a high liability policy and I'm in AZ which is expensive, but trying to figure out how much you are insuring your cars for? It's a 1996 TT with 39k miles and in almost perfect shape. Maybe they are insuring it on the high side because it's tough to replace for less than $150-200k if you look at what's available? My policies are not stated value. Let them figure it out (maybe I should change that). 1,000 deductible and they are recreation policies which is 3k miles a year or less IIRC.

I bet what you think is "expensive" is nothing as here in BC - $2000 min for a 993Turbo, or $5K for a 2018 GT3. (trying to make you feel better haha). Only saving grace is our 993's are now qualifying for collector plates, which takes the insurance down to the $900 range.
Values are still up there, but have dropped and stabilized. The 993 has move from the poster boy to the poor boy, displaced by all the 964 hysteria (triggered by Singer of course). You car is not a $200K car, more like $130K or less? Look around in the market for comparable cars, eliminate the outliers, and come to a number.
Cheers,
Mike
