Default Diverter Valves

During a recent maintenance orgy I replaced my diverter valves with the Bailey units. All that practice removing bras in the dark without looking at the clasp came in handy for the procedure. It was interesting that after 52K miles, much of it in very hot conditions, the stock valves were still in good shape. I wouldn't bother to change them unless you're sure they're bad or the engine is out for a clutch swap.

Indeed, the 993 TT DV's are nowhere nears as troublesome as the 996 TT ones are.

I don't replace them unless I hear/feel that they are not functioning correctly.

I better go practice on my "in the dark blind" bra removal skills...

Btw, don't you just have to remove the intercooler to get to the diverter valves?

They are buried deeper than that. I was swapping struts, so I had the heater box and air filter box out too.

I .... uhhh.... errrr.... Viperbob just replaced mine for me along with the 60,000 service, PSS-9, brakes, RS mounts, and uprated turbo hoses. I just drove the car home, and I dunno what... maybe just the cool weather, but the car is AWESOME fast. Something is working better... could be the diverter valves?

I not only had a great time at viperbob's, but he took great care of me and my car. I met some of his terrific friends, my car is getting closer to my dream machine, and he was easy on my wallet. The car runs better than it ever has. I'm looking forward to next year (if everything will hang on that long) when (hopefully) Bob will have a lift and can do the LWF/clutch assembly, and rebuilt hybrid turbo install.

Yeah... secret sauce is good stuff!
