Question 993TT Should I Buy One?

Last year I bought a pristine 96 C4 with 14K on it. Unfortunately for my wallet, these posts and the need for more hp have me thinking about buying a 993TT. Anyone out there have a 993TT that I could ride in and look over before starting my search? I'm in Cincinnati, OH and might be on the West Coast in Feb. 04. Thanks.

I bought one today. I've been grinning all day and my face is getting sore...

I'm in So. California, Ventura County (Moorpark, Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village). If you are nearby, you are welcome to a ride and perhaps a test drive. DOHC4v@aol.com

No subistitute. I was going shopping last nite and a
guy tried running me off the road ( a truck and a camper of
all things) I was behind 2 semis and he came up in the right
lane as the right lane ended. he just put on his blinker and came over.
I down shifted to 4th hit the gas and passed every one and everything
as I hit 130mph. Any other car and I would have been toast.
Its like a fighter plane for the roads. I just wish I had the armament!

Steve, if you are offering test drives, are they only limited to people who don't have a TT already?

Jeff,

Come on by Viperbob's place next weekend, and my car will be there. It may be slightly disassembled, so we might have to use your car for test drives. Actually, bringing your car by bob's would be a really good idea... you never know when we might need some spare parts!

96C4,

If you are in the Bay Area, I'f be happy to give you a ride. My car is not exactly stock, but close. Right Steve and Jeff? Sharky was over today and I gave him a ride in the car. He was kind of impressed I think. We had to go over to Home Depot for some parts. It makes a nice parts getter.

Old guy,

Sure... we can caravan up to Bob's place together. I'm sure my family (Santa Cruz & Scotts Valley) can find a place for you to bunk in. Take a ride in Bob's car, but only if you don't feel a college education is required for your sons. I am under strict orders NOT to take any rides with Bob, unless its in his beemer. Gotta go through San Luis Obispo to pick up my Euro turbo rear sway bar.

Bob is a really great guy, and you'd get a serious kick by talking to him, and getting his ideas for... uhhh... a few things your car might need. As an added bonus, you could meet Q45/911 in SLO, and see his beautiful guards red TT, with sunroof delete and sport seats. Also a really nice guy, and a charming wife. Come on!!!!!!

96C4,

If you are in the Bay Area, you can ride in my RUF. Be fore-warned though, a ride and a look-over means you're dead meat. You'll not sleep or eat again until you own one. And that's the unvarnished truth for thousands of years.

ROFL it makes a GREAT Home Depot parts getter I LOVED the Motons. Oh man did I love those things. If only...

Now the power delivery was really great and very strong. Who knows how much power? 600-650? Who cares, it's scary fast, handles fantastic and Bob's done some great stuff to make it light. I only wish mine was as light as a 993TT to begin with.

The sound was pure Porsche. I loved it. The 993TT is still the car I think of when I think of Porsches. Well after the 959 poster I had as kid that is.. I was suprised what a great street car it was. I had a lot of fun Bob, thanks for the ride, still smiling...

To the guy considering a 993TT. Don't consider... just do it.

PS As far as your car being stock.. I think that MONSTROUS IC is a give away, oh and when you fire her up too

I live in Indy and have a friend that I need to see that lives in Cinci. However I'm not sure when I'll be making that trip with this weather, my car doesn't like anything but sunny days with NO salt on the roads. You can always drive to Indy in about a hour and 45 mins. I think that it might be worth the trip to drive such a car with the likes of this one. Just let me know I'll clear my schedule.

Steve (old guy?), Bob, and CP.

Thanks for the offers. I'm going to be in the Bay Area and then Thousand Oaks during the last week of Feb. 04. I'll post an e-mail a week before I leave. I'd love to check out each of your cars as it seems that all of them are unique.

Indykid,

I can drive up to Indy any weekend. Just say the word and I'll be there.

Last time I test drove a porsche, I bought one the next day. Here I go again.
