Question New guy questions

Is it possible to get a window sticker from Porsche or anyone?
I have two keys that don't look anything alike but both work???
Don't have a key card...how do I get one?
Two remotes but only one works, is that a fixable thing?
Can a Porsche dealer pull a history of maint done at dealerships?
Car has option 706 that I can't find on any charts??

Love this car.

Bought my car from a dealer just over a year ago and they only had one key and remote. They did order me a second key and remote. When I received the new key, it didn't look anything like the original (I never tried it to see if it would work). The dealer then sent me a blank that I could take to a locksmith.

The dealer did provide me with the key code number (no card) but, with my original key and the new blank, I didn't need it for the second key. Would have been a different story if I had no key at all.

The dealer also gave me the immobiliser code (again, no card) which allowed me to program the remote. Just followed the directions at www.p-car.com. Took maybe 10 minutes.

With regard to service history I was able to get reprints of all the service work performed by the dealer where I bought the car. Since the car I bought was serviced exclusively by the same dealer, I was able to get everything. Not sure if the same data was accessible by other dealers.

Good Luck!

Its possible that the little battery in the remote that isn't working... uhhh... isn't working. Open it up and go to Radio Shack. They carry the batteries. Worth a try! I keep a spare in my glove box.

Oh... I tried to get a window sticker for my car, and there doesn't seem to be anyway to do that. You can. however, get a "Certificate of Authenticity" from PCNA... lists all the options and the total MSRP. About $90 for the certificate I think.

I just got that for my car and was really disappointed. I'm going to return it.

I got one key frpm my seller. I went to my dealer and
they ordered me a new one and programmed it for
me. It works great. Go to your dealers service dept if
you trust them and tell the service manager everything you
want. They should be able to do it. The certificate of
authenticity is the only way I know to get a replaced
Sticker for around a $100. Mine came with the original
windo sticker so I was pleased.

Talked to dealer today. Do you guys have two seperate numbers for the key card and immobilizer? He only gave me one four digit number and said it was for both. Does this seem correct?

Bill,

I think that's correct. My key card has a serial number and a 4-digit code. There is some complicated sequence of switch on/off according to that code to "de-immobilize" your car. All while the alarm is chirping, I suppose. I hope I never have to do that in a panic. Which is why I keep a spare immobilzer battery in the glove box.
