97 turbo S gauge cluster?
Does anyone know if the silver white gauge cluster that came in the 97 S was standard or an option? And does the factory original gauge cluster have a chrome ring around gauges? Thanks for any help.

I don't know about the 993 turbo S. I would guess that with all the other thing that are standard on the 993 turbo S that silver face gauges would be too. My factory silver face gauges have a chrome ring inside the glass between the silver face and the glass. They are were a option on my C4S.

C4SJOHN, Yes I believe they were standard too. Unfortunately the original owner prior to taking delivery didn't like them and replaced them with all black gauges which do look better in an all black interior I guess, but are not factory original. So I am looking for a set of original gauges. Do you remember how much the chrome silver gauge cluster was on you car?

Les, the option was Y29 [ Aluminum/Chrome Pkg.] includes oval chrome exhaust tips, metal door sills with insignia & Aluminum instrument dials. When ordering the car. Factory invoice was $1523.00 and the dealer list was $1901.00 plus State and Fed TAXES.........

Les, look on E-bay at item number 2446220302 the tach does not have the trip display for the boost read out. You can send your tach and the new silver face one to Hollywood speedo and maybe they can help you. Or see what the price would be to have a silver face put on your tach. I think they charge around $50.00 to set the mileage on the new speedo to the current mileage on your old one. I would also gest that you would be able to recover some of the cost by selling the old set.
