Default 993tt and kinesis wheels

I'm seriously considering purchasing the kinesis K28 wheels for my car. I wanted to know if any of you guys have pics of the wheels with standard finish on a 993 tt.

Thanks

Indy,

I have a set of K28s, but I had them painted a "muted" gold color (to resemble the anodized finish). I ordered them through Wheel Enhancements in Culver City, California, and can speak very highly of both Kinesis and W.E.

My wheels are 8.5x18 front and 10.5x18 rear. They are remarkably easy to keep clean, probably because the brake dust doesn't show on this color.

Thanks for the input Steve. I'm assuming that this is the same car in your avatar? The wheels in that pic look black or a grayish color.

Same wheels as in the avatar. Different lighting, I suppose. It seems that on a black car, black or dark grey wheels may look pretty dull. Gold, or polished wheels would look pretty nice, but polished wheels are pretty tough to keep clean. Here's another shot... Oregon coast...

I still have the original shocks (59,000 miles!) with ROW springs. I have a deposit for a PSS-9 set to be installed in January (I hope). The present shocks are toast.

I see you have a few mods... can you be more specific about the intake, exhaust, and chip?

Here is a more detailed discription, carbon fiber look open intake (disconnected from the intercooler housing) with a k&n filter. Muffler bypass exhaust connects directly to cat back pipes. Eibach 40mm lowering springs, and strut tower brace. All of these mods were purchased from fabspeed. Ecu upgrade stage 1 changing boost level to .2 over stock, purchased from fvd motorsports. All parts and tuning done by Euro Autosports. Greenwood Indiana. (Which included a full rebiuld).

Indykid,

Sounds like your car is setup similarly to mine. I also have muffler bypasses. No intake mods on my car (yet). Suspension work is next, plus an "S" aux oil cooler.

Yeah it sound like are mods are the same (except for the names). Do you know how much hp you have in your car, rear wheel or otherwise?

Indykid,

No, I've never dyno'd my car. The Gemballa ECU is advertised at 450HP, and it does seem to make the boost earlier. I have a mechanical boost gauge, but it's not plumbed yet (next weekend at viperbobs!) so that may tell me something. I also recommend that RS short shifter... helps with those long, VW-bus-like throws.

Kevin,

I have a set of K18Rs at the house right now. Wait a minute, they are attached to a car. Too bad the car is not mine, and neither are the wheels.. Do you think Alex would notice them missing?? All he looks at these days it the GT2 tail, and his pending bill for installing the GT2 nose. Stephen had to order a ton of stuff so I can get the radiator and all the other ducting to work. Sounds like a fun project.

Steve,
Your car will be Viperbob'd soon. That is always good for a bunch of HP and major credit card debt. Oh wait, you are paying in Beanie Babies though aren't you??

VB,

How many Beanie Babies for Alex's K18 wheels? If we put 4 space-saver spares on in their place, how long before he'd notice?

Pokemon cards. I also have my kids Pokemon cards to use as currency.

Can you shoot a picture of those wheels and post it? Oh... I suppose I could go to the Kinesis site and find them.

I'm looking forward to the total, wallet-emptying, Viperbob treatment next weekend.

Is this similar to the one Fabspeed does for the N/A 993 ? If yes then it will almost certainly lose you power by sucking in warmer air from the engine compartment - you are better off putting the old box back on and reconnecting the snorkel to the I/C housing to get that cold air back in. For levels of tune under 450HP the stock air box is not restrictive ( a BMC/K&N filter element may help) hence the factory left alone at these levels.
