Rolling fenders in S.F. Bay area
After installing the Billstein PSS9 suspension and setting up the ride height to RSR specs, I've been experiencing some rubbing on the inside front fenders. My previous car was a lowered '87 911 and the fenders were rolled on this vehicle to eliminate the same problem. Does anyone out there have any recommends for a shop to provide this service on the San Francisco penninsula or in the south bay area. Thanks, Joe

I have rolled the fenders on my race car, used a baseball bat and the handle off my aluminum jack. It is not a pleasant thing to watch, there is a risk that you can crack the paint.
I saw that the tire rack has a special tool you can rent to do the job, I would look into that.

Hi Joe,
You can try this shop in Redwood City:
Automotive Perfection
Redwood City
Jack Perkins (owner)
(650) 365 9483
Btw how do you like the PSS-9 setup compared to the stock suspension? Did you install the RS Sway bars as well?

Thanks for the responses.
I'm not sure I'm quite up to the task of taking a baseball bat to my 993. I once posessed a '67 912 Targa that I might of considered adjusting with a bat, especially after many an inopportune break down.
So far I am extremely pleased with the PSS 9 set up. The other shocks were well past their prime so the swich was extremely noticable. The car feels very tight although the ride is quite stiff even in the softest position. I don't mind but I have had passengers notice. I did do the sway bar switch also
I was in Custom Alignment (btw a great organization, very professional, friendly, etc.) yesterday having a new set of rear tires put on and they are the ones who tipped me to the rubbing problem after I asked them to inspect the front tires. I had heard some noises from there and suspected the problem. They suggested a company called Streetwise in Fremont, Ca. I called them and they said that their rolling machine didn't fit on Porsches but there was a shop somewhere in the south bay area that specialised in this but they couldn't recall the name. I'll keep looking. Once more, thanks and any info is appreciated. Joe

Joe,
What wheel/tire combo are you running? Can the rubbing be eliminated through changes in alignment, ie. additional negative camber?
I have Fikse FM/10's with 225-40/18F and 285-30/18 R Bridgestone S02's and I get occasional rubbing when the suspension bottoms out. My car currently has the original "high-boy" suspension but I ordered the PSS-9's today. It sounds like I'll have the same problems when I install them so any feedback you can provide would be helpful.
Thanks,
Matt

Try Streetwise Motorsport (Albrae St.) in Fremont. They have a special tool designed specifically for fender rolling and charge about $80/side if I recall correctly. They didn't roll my fenders but did suspension work on my cars and did a good job.
