Post horns installed update

Jeff and Keith,

Here is the update on a post I had a couple of weeks ago about installing the older style trumpet horns.

They are now installed and sound FANTASTIC.

My car now sings the true Porsche song. They are louder than the disk horns that came with the car and, that high pitched beep is so much sweeter sounding.

I can definitley recommend this change to any disk horned 993 out there.

p.s. If anyone wants my two slightly used '96 disk horns they are yours for the postage, just post here to let me know.

Brad,

sorry I wasn't able to help after all. I still don't have my car back yet. glad it worked out for you.

Did someone else send you pics or did you wing it?

Guess I wont be looking to change out my horn style to disc anytime soon.

Brad,

Did you purchase the horns from Gert or buy locally? How about posting a DIY?

Brad,

Thanks for the update!!! I second the request for a DIY. Did the horns bolt right in or did you have to make some modifications.

E.J.,
I knew you were going to come thru for me on the pic but the timing worked out so it's now done.
speedster94 was nice enough to email me a photo at distance of a '95 but as it turned out I mounted them differently.
I couldn't figure out how to mount them as they were in '95 so they instead were squeezed onto the existing bracket that held the disk horns. The bracket had to be bent but it somehow worked to hold the trumpets. One horn faces forward the other down. It's a tight fit.

jgmurray, Yes I got the trumpets thru Gert. I don't have a digital camera (heck I'm still on windows '95) and didn't take pictures so the only DIY info I can now offer is answers to questions you or krburrell or others may have.
