Post Torque settings for Strut Brace Nuts

I am going to install a strut tower brace on my 993 Cab this weekend and had a question about the torque settings for the 4 nuts.
I seem to recall somewhere that these 4 nuts needed to be torqued to 24 ft lbs/288 inch lbs...is that correct? It seems a bit high to me.
I also have the problem that my torque wrench will only set up to 250 inch lbs...my wife is really starting to hate this car!
Thanks much for the help.

Please ignore the sentence about the torque wrench - it's too early to think clearly.
Just looking for the correct settings for the nuts.
Thanks again.

Rick,

I have the most commonly used torque setting information listed in my web site under "Technical References" section.

Rick,

Robin's site has a 'commonly used' torque section.
http://p-car.com/torque/

he shows the setting to be 33 Nm or 24 ft-lb.

Thanks to Robin for his great site!

Rick:

I would strongly advise you not use a torque wrench to do this, but rather snug the bolts down with a ratchet.

I used a wrench set to 20 ft/lbs (wrench handles to 100 ft/lbs) and the bolt never set but just kept spinning until the head snapped off. I am not the only one who has had this experience, BTW. What a PITA!

Just a data point. YMMV.

Thank you, Ben.

You are certainly a better navigator of the p-car.com site than the p-car.com's own "SEARCH" feature.....

FWIW, a good dealer mechanic (not an oxymoron) told me 18.

evidently, they strip very easily.

Otherwise, "In Robin We Trust"
