At last I can post you photos of the 9mRS upright in the metal. This is obviously the trial pair which have ben run through the individual programs and jigs to check the various sets to achieve the shape, all starting from boring the hole in the huge round billet.
There are a couple of holes still to drill and some radius cleaning to do before the tapered steel inserts are fitted. Once this is done we can test fit wheel bearings and trial the hubs on a 9m64RS that's currently lurking in the corner of the shop.
I anticipate that we will be taking pre-order deposits in January on the retail price of £2195 per pair (excluding VAT & shipping). If we can drum up a group buy of 5 pairs or more, there will be a Rennlist exclusive offer at £1995 per pair.
I'm happy to finally report that the 9mRS billet uprights are nearing completion at our machine shop. The delays were down to the need to construct a trunnion fixture for the final machining operations. All done, the finished batch are now only waiting on shrink fitting the hardened steel inserts which should all be done by the end of this week. Photos show the trunion in operation on the 4-axis, the pile of (almost) finished uprights and one of them with inserts next to the original RS part. The price is £2195 per pair, will set up Rennlist Group Buy for next batch if there is enough interest.
