993 Lift bar verification
A while back I purchased a used set of lift bars from another RL'er in the hopes that it would help/speed up the jacking process. However, only recently did I get the opportunity to test them out after finally acquiring a low profile jack. To my disappointment, the lift bars are about .5 inch too short making them useless. Can someone pls measure their lift bars and confirm whether it's user error or the wrong lift bars.
here is what mine measure:
Overall length is just shy of 51".
Starting point...
End point; 50" to the center of the lifting point.

Not an answer to your question but aren't most jack cross beams too short for jack points. To avoid body twisting on our cars when lifting the front couldn't one use a standard shorter cross beam across the lower control "A" arm body mounts and then lower the car onto two regular jack stands at the jacking points? Seems the rear is not an issue as it can be lifted from the engine case in the middle.

You might want to check the deflection on that bar. Its possible that it deflects enough to touch the frame(?) where you are jacking, putting much of the force not on the jacking points.
Rough estimate for a 1-1/4 solid bar is 0.62" 1-1/2" solid bar is 0.31"
Much more for a non solid bar.
I will measure mine for my 964 and 997.1 - I think the 964 and 993 are the same?

Also keep in mind there is more than one hole on each side at the jack point in the rear and there may be more than one at the front jack point as well. Using an alternate hole may be why the bar seems not to reach.

This is an old thread but I am interested in purchasing a set of lift bars. I was hoping someone might have some feedback on them before I make a purchase. Thanks.

I got a pair of lift bars few months ago. The fit is spot on. It definitely fits perfectly into one of the hole toward the rear of the chassis without any issues. My car is not lower so no clearance issue for me. I do have about a 3/4 inch of extra room to get the bars on. Seeing as your car is lowered to at least ROW height or lower, you will likely need a little DIY ramp.
