Default Top speed you did..need feedback

How fast have you had your stock 993 on a race track or private air field runway, was it stable at 130-155mph?

I have an opportunity to go on a runway and I want to do 150mph or more. Last time I did that in my 87 vette..155 the front end got really light from so much air going under the car it scared me and I had to back off.

not sure what it would be like in a cab............... but in a coupe (lowered with PSS9 suspension as primary mods, 145 on a track was completely stable

I've been up to 160mph in my previous 993tt. It was pretty nervous at that speed. Never felt like it was going to lift or anything but the short wheel base makes it twitchy at speed. If I were going to set the car up for high speed runs I would reconsider alignment settings.

Find a well-instructed event at NJMSP. The front straight of Thunderbolt is plenty long, and you get to experience real thrills in hunting apexes.

I had my stock '95 coupe 6 speed up to 151 mph. Before i did the 151 i did a lot of 120's and 130 runs. It takes a while to go from 130 to 151. The car didnt feel good at 151.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the input. I was thinking it would be like what GT3stig said.

Lowered, otherwise stock, Targa was completely stable at 140mph. Didn't try for more because it wasn't strictly legal...

165 speedometer-indicated mph. Probably closer to 155 in real speed. In a completely stock 114K miles cab with old shocks and top down. The car felt completely and utterly stable. As speed increase, the car seemed to have "sat down" and, at least at 150, was completely stable, despite the state of shocks.

Make sure nothing is around you. Getting to those speeds braking from those speeds takes a while. Make sure your tires are properly inflated and not old.

Touched 170 mph on speedometer for a brief second. Pretty scarey just going that fast, but the car felt fine...kinda loud...but didn't notice anything out of the ordinary during the slow approach to that speed.
