All the dealers that I visited in the past 2 years while looking for a 993s/4S have between $12-$20k premium on what the car should sell for and that quickly disappointed me but still kept the search going and was able to pickup the best 4S out there within my price range from a fellow Rennlister. Having picked up A 964 C4 and a 993 4S within the last 9 months, my experience summary has been that you need to act quick and fast with cash in hand, PPI set up and ready to roll, otherwise someone else will grab it. Fair priced and well documented manual coupe 993s S/4S have become rarified air. If you find one don't think about it too much or someone else will cut in, like that cute girl at the highschool dance. Chances are you'll never see her again..

Here's a chart I put together while researching my 97 C2S purchase you might find useful. These are documeneted sale prices, not list.
The straight line formula is 111K -0.57(kmiles).

Interesting chart, thank you for posting this. My 97' C4S is within $70 of your formula, purchased in 2017!

Cool! Mine did too.
I'm going to try to keep the data base updated and re-post occasionally.

My '96 993 C4S purchased last week of 2017 from another Rennlister came within $3.5K of this formula! Something I can live with as these cars have become such a rare find at a fare price.

If you'd like to get added to the data base PM me with price and mileage.

Thanks Julio, you are now part of the data base!

Just so you know, I don't disclose info other than model, year, mileage and sale price.
Some day if I get enough data points I'll sort them into 2S/4S, but for now they're lumped together.

Great info Jay. The blue dots are outliers?

Thanks for putting it together. It solidifies the fact that the 2S/4S are still beyond what I'm comfortable spending.

As an FYI - there's what appears to be a very nice 96 4S for sale near me in VA for $85k. About 38k miles.

The blue dots are the actual sales. The red line is a "best fit" straight line to those data points.
The formula for the red line is: $111K -.57 (k-miles). For example, plugging in 38k miles for that 4S you mentioned comes out to $89.3K. Lot's of variables to consider so use it as a starting point.

A PCA member has put together a list of various for sale Porsches on Reddit. He writes up a
headline and provides a link to a Craigslist private party ad. If your in the market, you might
want to check out what he has posted. Cheers!

Did anyone happen to lay eyes on or have any info on the White Targa that sold in Lewisville Texas?

It was listed and sold on Autotrader at 27.5K. It was a 6 speed with 72K miles. Claimed to have had a PPI done and was in good shape, including a properly functioning Targa top. I have to assume they were lying about condition to be priced that low. I would feel alot better about missing out if I knew it indeed was too good to be true. I've included a screenshot since the ad has come down.
