That is so me. Every six months I think about selling it but then drive it and think why would I sell it? Mine is a 126K 96C4. I have had it for six years and it has gone up in value but what is it worth? 65? What air cooled 911 would I buy that would be better for that money? It is a very reliable car and paint etc is still beautiful.

Selling isn't even remotely a consideration. Never has been as this was/is my dream car that took me years to get into; and really won't ever be if I've got a say in it. If I am in whatever way incapacitated, I'll let the four grown kids arm wrestle for it

My 95 with 183k miles has a gorgeous red sheen, engine is tight and loves to rev to red, trans is smooth and slick, and suspension is communicative, taut, and controlled. No shortage of the normal wear points like the nose, windshield, stoneguards, and the like. Heck, my driver's seat is now looking reaaallly bad (though all others look great) and I want to get the fronts recovered. Trying to wait out all this post-covid stupidity with prices over everything gone completely haywire! But there is nothing --nothing-- available for whatever sum I'd get in even the best sale that could compensate for the joy of driving this little beastie. It's a feast for the senses, and still my commuter as it has been since 01. And like others, rock-solid reliable (more than our family's old crap Honda!). I feel like I've won the lottery to be able to own such a special car, even more so since I have an SC as a stablemate. But as for valuation, at least now I have a ballpark to talk insurance update. Sorry for the slight derail ...sometimes discussing these cars just gets me excited!

I am helping a friend sell a C2 993...Iris Blue, Grey, Black dash. This gentleman has Parkinson's and is not going to be driving a stick much anymore. He has owned many interesting cars over the years...930 Turbo, Pantera , Mercedes SL's and Hemi Charger and I'm sure more I do not know about. Any ideas of a fair asking price?

Year? Miles? Any history on the car? Paint work? Accidents? Service?

Will be having a phone call tomorrow to discuss...think 85K miles. Do not think any accidents, but do believe some minor paintwork. The car has not been driven much in the past few years since he has Parkinson's at this point. I know this is not much help, but was trying to get some ballpark figures I could rely on from some knowledgable Porsche enthusiasts. The auction research I have looked at is pretty all over the board and only hope to make a good case to him for a fair realistic price.

In order to give you a real ball park, knowing the year, and a little history is a must. Also Coupe, Cab or Targa ?

No, this car is not mine. I started this thread a long while ago to post cars that I find interesting. You will need to be a PCA member or join their pilot program to contact the seller.

Reading others thoughts, thought I’d post. This coming spring, I’m thinking of selling my ‘96 c2, coupe, black and black, 6 speed. 60k miles.
I bought it 4 years ago or so, only put 8K miles, but just never find time to drive it.

Every year or so, I have to put time & $ into it, so just kinda like is it time to sell? Example, dropping off on Monday to fix sunroof and cruise control issues.
Didn’t buy for investment, but bought for enjoyment. But, with the value appreciation, I get more anxiety driving.

It took me 2 years to find it, so if anyone has been looking (ie..obsessing over the same), ping me whenever.
Again, I have no idea if I will sell it - maybe after this latest round, I’ll be back to 100% in love.

If you get anxious driving it, you have the wrong insurance lol. Just increase your agreed value coverage and drive it.
