Calling all motec experts
Just wired m48 to 993 with 12 plug distributor and only one side of the engine is getting spark. I'm using factory harness with m48. Motec Ignition1 is wired to final stage ignition circuit 1 pin 25 and motec ingnition 2 (aux 2) is wired to final stage ignition 2 pin 35. Motec set up see pic.
Should I jump the two pins 25 and 35 together or can the motec be set where it triggers both coils at the same time? Thanks in advance Mark

No clue. But, if you don't get an answer try posting in the 964 forum and user Geoffrey might see it. Or PM him directly. He is a MoTeC dealer IIRC.

You need to set the number of coils to 1 in the software, then wire ignition 1 to the trigger input on both sides of the ignition amplifier. The engine will then run both coils simultaneously.

Apologies for the thread hijack, but does OP or anyone else have the 88pin DME pinout they're willing to share?
I did find Bill Verberg's 55pin vs. 88pin pinout comparison, however there seem to be discrepancies with at least 2 pin names on his list (#20 & #78) and I'd like to have confidence in the 88pin pinout for my own engine management project...

Has anyone wired the vehicle speed pin#9 55pin to motec input? What's the configuration in the m48 motec for "calibration" and "teeth #"?
I have the dig input 1 wired to vehicle speed pin#9 on the ecu connector. I'm assuming that signal is coming from the meg sensor from one of the wheels or ABS.
Thanks Mark

I'm hoping to gain reasonable confidence in the true 88-pin DME pinout so I can adapt my standalone ECU to the factory wiring harness. Bill's diagram leaves some room for interpretation that I may be making incorrectly.
Thanks Juha, but that looks like the 55pin DME pinout, which is readily available and even comes up in a Google image search. I'm searching for the Eighty Eight pin pinout.

Are you building an adapter loom that plugs into the ECU and then into the stock harness plug?
