Headlights are ON: warning bell
I have tried unsuccessfully to search this topic. Perhaps someone can direct me. If I left the lights on when exiting my old 964, an audible alarm (like a dinging bell) would alert me to turn them off. Does this feature exist in the 993? If so, mine doesn't work, what should I be looking to fix/replace? I can't tell you how many times people come to my office and tell me to go back out and turn off the headlights in the mornings!!
Help on this will be most appreciated!

Burning Brakes
My Hi-Fi shop installed light automatics. I don't bother with light swich at all. Automatics "senses" when engine is running and swiches light on. Daytime lights are compusary in Estonia.

Your headlights should go off w/the ignition leaving just the parking lights on when you turn off the engine w/the light switch still on. Then, as Graham said, you get gonged when you open the door. Do your interior lights go on when the door is opened? Do you get gonged if you leave the key in the ignition after turning off the engine & opening the door? It could be as simple as a bad door switch.

Simon,
It's most likely the door switch. I had this problem on my C4S. If the interior lights don't come on, then it's definitely your door switch. Mine worked on the passenger door but not on the driver's. Changed the switch and works fine now.

I want to wire up my '86 911 lights like Jack Ennuste's Hi Fi Shop (see above), with the headlights (lowbeam) ON whenever the ignition is ON. Can someone describe a simple method to wire this up?
thanks
Mike
'86 coupe, with no lights ON warning gongs.
