No it's not. Just like little kid's RCs or Tyco speed. The HPI pictured above though goes 52mph on a cobalt Insane motor Timed on a stretch with transponder.

Craig, I only saw that color I would like a yellow one myself. I doubt it though if you even let your 7 year old have the other one (j/k)

I just got back from a trip to Target, and couldn't find them in the "toys" section. Now I come back a read I should have looked in "automotive". Darn. I told them I was looking for a gift for my grandson. They didn't buy the story.

Of course...

He got his pick of two Hot Wheels ! One was a Ferrari 360 Modena, the other was a Drag Funny Car...

He for sure got the car gene !

Thanks again. My wife is going to wrap the GT2 so I have a "toy" for X-Mas...

Yeah they are 1;5 scale with zenoah 3.5HP engines!!! We are talking full working disk brakes, roll cages, the works!!! State of the Art for a measly price of $1000

My RSCS RC is from Tamiya at 1/10 scale and it goes like a mad thing with a turn 10 modified engine! I have accumulated an obsene amount of RC's , my latest built is a GT1 with full carbon fiber parts, titanium bolts and aluminum shocks , mounts and suspension. I dont have pics with me but its amazing.... I'm also finishing a GT3....

Here is one of my Tamiya Supercups:

and the chassis for the GT3:

I saw black ones at the mall (Ontario Mills) and they were asking $39. I was in a hurry so I didn't get a chance to buy it.

DJF1, I thought I saw your RC in a thread before. I didn't know that it is yours. Nice! I didn't know Tamiya makes double deck chasis like those. I had a Corolla Rally Tamiya before and it only had the tub chasis. Do you still run it? Last time I ran mine was in Japan.

Here's a photo of my HPI. I have been contemplating in selling it at ebay to get more upgrades for the big one, but now I saw yours, I might just keep it. I just need to find the motivation to paint the 993 lexan

Notice the rear toe-in. Just like the 993s. Now I'm wondering who was first, the RCs or the "P" cars

Sorry guys, I know this is not an RC discussion site at least I'm talking about a 993 RC

while we are talking about r/c cars... here is my 1/8th scale off road car. Raced these professionally for about 8 years. A hell of a way to travel around the world, racing toy cars for bowling trophies....

These car are lethal, zero to 100mph (actual speed, not scale speed) in about three and a half seconds!!

This thread is too funny. About a week ago, my wife and I were at Target. She was off doing her thing while I meandered about. When she tracked me down, I was drooling over an RC GT2 (the one mentioned in this thread). She ended up buying it for me and is going to wrap it up as an X-Mas present for me just like Jim.

I just showed this thread to her and she got quite a chuckle out of it.

I too ran to Target, only to look in the wrong place and be disappointed. I guess it points to how close I pay attention to what I read (not very!). Luckily it's only two miles down the road. Of course subconsciously I probably didn't expect to find it, being Northern Iowa and all. If Target store managers have product discretion like Wal-Mart managers then I'll be lucky to find a model of a Mustang, much less a P-car.

Chris, Those are the ultimate RCs! Did you have sponsors too racing the around in diff countries?

Yeah guys, I learned a good lesson yesterday when I found the model GT2. That I need to escort the wife more when she goes out specially in places where there's auto supplies maybe, I could do what DGlen did, wait 'till the wife see me drooling over toys or parts and maybe she'll voluntarily pay for em

On my return trip to Target, lo and behold, I came across 2 911 GT2s just four rows down from where I looked previously. They were with a display of automotive-related "holiday" type gifts (12V cooler, cheap tool set, etc). I bought one and headed home.

And after seeing the look on my four year old's face when I told him it was for my shelf and he couldn't play with it, I was right back at Target buying the second one and lots of batteries. So if you are in the market for one of these in Mason City Iowa, you are SOL because I own them all!

Moral of the story: You can never have too many 993s.

chris walrod, what car is that.

I have a Mugen XR Works 1/8 Scale buggy, a RC10 GT truck and Nitro TC3 1/10 scale car. I always wanted to race but never had any tracks near me.
