Talking New stable mate for bozo's 993

Yeah well, go ahead, pick up the stones and throw them at me... So I did sell the 356, mostly because I wasn't driving it as much as I should - long work commute - and putting too many miles on the 993 ! 8000 miles in 5 months !

So I bought a mini cooper - isn't that the perfect clown car ?

Love it.. It handles like a go-cart, there is ZERO overhang in front of the front wheels or behind the back wheels. It's scary how well it handles, in fact... plenty of room, 2 real rear seats, incredibly cool interior with aircraft toggle switches, 40 mpg so far...

So, Ok, the power is not incredible on the base model, but hey, I still got the 993 for those days I feel the need for speed - probably 1/2 the time... And the mini's already got a rattle in the door and a blinking battery light, so I am sure there will be plenty of Bozo opportunities there as well...

The 356 found a good home, and I will probably get another one when my commute shrinks back !

Greg.

Isnt it a rennlist tradition that us clowns ask us other clowns
BEFORE we go buy another car?? We are going to have to
check the Bozo code of ethics hand book!
Congrats on the new roller skate!

One of the great things about the new Mini is the print advertising... some of the best in the buisiness. Did you see in the "owners manual" where you are advised to park your car so that the rear end lines up with the big boats next to you, instead of pulling all the way in? That way people don't scan down the lot, and think its an empty spot.

Oldguy is right... HWFM Racing rules require all potential car transactions be discussed, criticized, and ultimately ignored. So, despite the fact that you've gone ahead without our valuable suggestions, I for one consider this matter to remain open for discussion.

I would propose that you buy my Expedition instead. It's on the market for $1.60/pound.

Is there enough room for your orange wig, red nose and, of course, exploding shoes?

Regards to all.

There is room for my 2 left hands, that's for sure... As for the rest it's roomier than the 993 ;-) Just slower ;-)

By the way, the 115 hp guarantees a top finish at any HWFM Racing event, well, by top, I mean last place of course !

They are intriguing cars. It would be fun to have one but don't know if it would be a novelty purchase. No doubt it would be fun to buzz around town in.

Nooooooooo.... but tempting, yes...

The plan was (note past tense) to save gas and wear and tear on the 993 so I could afford 993 mods... But yes, both are calling for mods now ! Typical Bozo move !

Greg

Those are really appealing and everyone I know who has one loves it. It is a great commuter car.

There is a definite advantage to that car for any HWFM event. You can get far more cases of beer into a mini than into a 993.

Steve

I agree they do great ads for the mini.

My favorite was the centerspread of autoweek, where the Mini was drving around the actual magazine staples as if they were slalom pylons.

Great choice, Greg. Happy Motoring!
Mine is Metallic Silver with white roof, white mirrors, white wheels and white bonnet strips. Kind of like the cars in the Italian jobs.

PSS9 for the mini ? That's crazy. The stock suspension is already the stiffest set of shocks I have ever experienced... During my trip back, I kinda had to ... go, you know, and I could feel every pebble thru my bladder. With PSS9 I'd have needed diapers ! I cannot imagine what the sports suspension feels like, the stock one corners flat !! ;-)

Stripes are coming... front "bonnet" only.. And ad wise, I loved the car silhouettes to stick to your door, fighter pilot style - I still have those ;-) Even their website and owner's manual is full of little gems like that !

That being said I was quite happy to put the pedal to the metal in the 993 today ;-) Very happy with the balance, commuters are boring as a rule, the mini is the exception !
