Default looking for part #, function

Looking for part number and function of this part (see photo). It is the black rubber piece between the silver varioram cover and the 2 metal AC lines.

It look's like it feeds into an air intake opposite the car's air filter?

The rubber suffered heat fatigue over time and now the top of it is crumbling.

Part number#

I noticed the Varioram script on your intake manifold. My manifold and many others are sans script. Anyone know what that was all about? A cost-out project on the casting. A manufacturing part approval that missed it once it was already in a casting run?

THX for the info.

The "varioram" writing has been there since new.

The car only has @ 28K miles and is a 97 (no engine work of any type).

XVA was an "Exclusive" special order option "Varioram Add" . If you chose that option it was a $387. special order. It also robs 5hp as the cars without it are considerably faster through the slalom. Adrian's book goes into great detail about it on page 267.
