Thumbs up thanks jack

seeing an actual map was very informative. thank you.

are the yellow spots just "warning" areas? & the red areas "hot/fire" zones?

later.

it appears from the legend, that the yellow areas are previously burned areas during the period from 1/03 to current.
the red areas are fires in the last 24 hours.
someone check me if i am wrong.

It is a shame that the state does not have a system set up to where residence can go to a web site and see the movement of fires from day to day. I know they do have the maps with such info as well as they also have maps of were they expect it to go. Most likely in fire situations like these is once they have the info it is so tuff to get it out to all agencies to then start evacuations. As soon as the get the info and look it over then make a decision its already outdated. Maybe thats something you poor folks in cali can ask your new governor. I know they have several federal grants now that cover that type of info. I have been fighting fire 15 yrs and know that if the public has same info as you they can then believe and trust the thoughts of fire departments and police when it comes to disasters. Then, when the agencies do cry wolf people can then understand the reasoning behind it.

My thought s and pryers go out to those there in Ca.
God Bless and take care.
