My Dad had two NSXs when I was a kid. I remember them being brilliant analog cars since they're lightweight and mid engined, making them fast and handle really well. I'll have an NSX soon enough.
I just bought an E39 M5. 4.9 liter super sedan. Awesome car. Nothing to dislike about these.

My favorite will always be my 1995 M3. that car was superb

Honda AP1 S2000. Still have it along with '97 993. With competition grade coilovers, forged BBS rims, OEM hardtop, catback stainless/titanium exhaust, and convert top and hardware removal and other minor weight reductions down to approximately 2,500 pounds, it is truly a high performance go-cart for the street with ultra responsive steering and an alley cat screaming 9000 RPM engine. My wife prefers the 993.

Ok, well since the S2000 guys are chiming in..
06 Miata, nice car (front end is a bit ugly) but amazing cars. Whatever you heard about 'the answer is always Miata' is correct. I will sell my 993 before I ever give up my Miata.
Why?
-stone nuts cold reliable. redline shifts as soon as you start it if you want.
-cheap to repair, easy to work on
-sewing machine quiet, tossable, flickable, 'slow fast car'.
-shifts PERFECTLY (stock)

That is my first car. It started out as a 1990 Miata, but over 27 years of ownership I've completely tore it down to its base parts and rebuilt it into something else. It's not really a Miata anymore as essentially EVERYTHING about the car has been changed...it's more of a one off now. Carbon/composite body, 1895lbs/250hp...

On the other hand, I can't stand the E36 M3 (or any E36 for that matter). The E36 was BMW's version of the 996. The E30 was much better.
