I've been following the progress of this jack and it's great to see it moving closer to production. I need a set of jack stands and these are very nice for the price.

C'mon Frank, some of us have some work we want to get to!

Will you have adapters for Porsche, Audi, BMW available at the start?

I keep following these as well. Does anyone know if the new design that Safejacks is selling will still fit underneath a 993? (As the original designer intended.) What about a 993 lowered to about RS height?

I tried contacting Safejacks but haven't been able to get an answer.

Also, it seems they have no plans to come out with a cup to fit Porsches yet, if ever. I wonder if the open style cup that comes with the jack will fit a hockey puck? But then, there goes another inch of clearance.

Anyone have any insight? gyrfalcon? Would love your feedback!!

Thanks in advance.

Late reply NC Trackrat, sorry ... You're right of course that the Jackpoints aren't adjustable, but it's really easy to slip block(s) of wood under the stands to attain whatever height you need within reason. The Jackpoint stands are incredibly sturdy and very easy to use. I was sorry to see these new start up stands suddenly escalate in price, but I don't think they were ever really a match for the sturdy Jackpoints.

www.safejack.com Click on Rennstands. Currently, they don't offer a jacking pad for our cars but are supposedly working on it. I thought that the pinch-weld pad they furnish would work on our Macan but someone who tried it, said that it caused the plastic jack point to crack.

Either SafeJack comes up with a pad or we're going to have to engineer something on our own. Just putting a hockey puck on top of their bar is unsafe. Neither of thie supplied pucks will work on our 993's our Macan or our MINI's. There needs to be a 1/2-inch pin going through the bar to ensure that the puck won't slip. Anyone got any ideas?

Drill a .5" hole through the center of the puck.
Slip an appropriately sized hex head bolt through puck and crossbar.
Line up head of bolt with the hole in the center of the 993 jacking point.

This is exactly what I will be doing! RENN-GINEERING!

How is it that the product originally introduced on this forum over 8 years ago by a fellow 993 owner and CEO of the original company does not fit our cars without “reengineering”? Sorry if this was already discussed, I didn’t have the patience to wade through 11 pages of history. Not trying to be an a*s, just curious.

Agreed. I did check page 1 and it looked to me like the original design did not integrate with the 993 jack point.
However, I suspect that the proper 993 attachment from the vendor will retail for $25 to $30 extra per stand. So 4 x $25 or 'renn'gineering?
I know which route I would go.

Sorry just realized original post was only 1 1/2 years ago. Still the inventor came to this forum looking for feedback from fellow 993 owners to develop this product. Seems the least it could do is mate up to the 993 jack points without additional cost or reengineering.

I hear ya, but now the Mfg is in charge, If they are flying off the shelves (note the constantly out of stock) as is, what is their motivation to cater to the ( lets be honest) small 993 crowd?
