Violet Blue Metallic (update)
Tomorrow I am going to check this car out, but was wondering if this is a standard Porsche color? I did a search for violet on this board, but nothing much comes up, seems to be a rare color. Don't think it's Amaranth Violet, too bright for that. The owner calls it Violet Blue. I will ask him tomorrow if he had the car repainted, but just wanted to check with you guys first.
FYI, the interior is light grey. Kind of like the combination.
Thanks!

It's always hard to tell true colors from photos due to the camera and monitor adding bias to the true color. The best thing to do is open the front trunk and pull the carpet back on the left side. Near the brake fluid reservoir you should see a sticker that tells the paint code and the color.

That's a good idea because any color can come from the factory even if it's not "standard". Porsche is known for matching anything they're given by a customer (for a price). Many years ago a Dealer told me about a guy who had his 911 painted to match some of his wife's accessories. Poor guy.

You can never be 100% sure from a photo, but I am 99.9% certain that it is Zenith Blue. which is the color of my 97 C4S. It was a standard color but is pretty rare.

I tried to buy a Zenith Blue/black 97 C2S before I got my current car. Couldn't get the price within my budget. I think the color is great.
Hope the car checks out.

Paint codes
The code written inside the front trunk was:
37E 9 3 MS
Violet Blue Metallic
57
Did anybody ever see or hear about this color? I think it's pretty rare.
As some people pointed out, the color looked different than on the pictures. In reality, it's closer to purple than blue.
I will have the car inspected at the local Porsche dealer's garage, and hopefully know the result by Tuesday.
Some details about the car:
1995 C2 TipS with 60,000km
Violet blue metallic with white-gray interior.
HID lights, Brombacher 18 inch wheels, H&R suspension, Imec exhaust.
(The wheels, tires, and suspensions were installed just months ago; the receipt for the wheels only showed $3700)
Chassis number: WPOZZZ99ZSS31xxxx
Should I double-check certain known issues with the Porsche dealer after they checked it out? Any input would be highly appreciated!
The head gasket was replaced last year. Is this is good thing (that it has been replaced), or a result of something to be aware of?
Hopefully I will be a 993 owner soon!!!
