I received the plastic slides for the trim pieces last week. I installed them this weekend, along with some new foam pieces. It was a pain to get the trim pieces slid onto the rails, but it's made a world of difference in rattles & noise!

Considereing mine were missing the plastic slides & the PO had tried to silicon & screw them into place!

Here are pics of the slides - I forgot take pics of them installed, but looks just like previous pics in this thread.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Awesome news! I should be receiving mine anytime -- but I won't be able to get on that project for a few weeks. I'll take photos then as well.

One question. How did you install them? The original had a rivet. If you used a rivet, what was the size (height and width)? Same question if you used screws, etc. Also noticed on another posting that people have added a couple additional screws to keep the slide from twisting. Did you do that as well?

OK, I guess that was three questions!

I followed what it says in this TSB. No rivits.

I just drilled one hole, either side & installed them with some small, large thread sheet metal screws (approx. 10mm x 4mm). I actually ordered the screws that go with them, but the heads, I felt, were too tall & they would bind on the track. They seemed to be pretty solid, so I did not add screws to stop them from swiveling.

Sorry to wake this old thread...I'm a new member and can't PM yet. I have a 1996 993 Targa; I'm going to attempt to troubleshoot the Targa top myself in my garage. I wonder if your scans for the factory shop manual might still be available?
Edit: I see this posted to the end of this thread. Sorry everyone. I thought it would reply to the post I was on. tagging @BobbyT here whose post I was replying.
