Default Softback/harback SportSeats

Hello all,

Does anybody know of a set of either Softback or Hardback sport seats for sale that won't cost me an arm and a leg? Any condition is fine and color is not too big of a deal but would prefer black.

Thanks.

Probably not.

"Sports Seats" and "inexpensive" are mutually exclusive.

If you hunt, you might be able to find a super ratty set for $4K or so, but then you'll need to throw a lot more money at them to get them up to speed.

Good luck.

Respectfully disagree. You can get a set of softball sport seats for about $2,000. They don't have the sexy hard backs, but IMHO this is the best supporting seat you can plug and play with.

if you're looking for 993-specific sport seats, goofball is right. availability is short on these and prices are a tad insane. $5-6k in good condition - assuming you can beat rudy to the punch on them.

there are options though, if you don't mind something not year/gen specific. i went with 996 sport seats and got a steal on them (see pic - only had this pic at work. obviously both are installed). they have since gone up quite a bit, but they're still a good bit cheaper than the 993 sports. you can also go back a gen and get the big bolstered sports from the G50/964 series. these are great seats also - i have them in my '87. extremely supportive and comfortable.

it's all just a matter of what you find acceptable.

Shipping them t'aint cheap either.

Last eBay sale was asking $5,500 + $400 shipping. A best offer was accepted, so final selling price is N/A.

Sometimes less, sometimes more, but $5,000-$6,000 seems to be their "sweet spot."

993 specific soft back sport seats are usually $2-3k. I'm pretty sure they were only available on early 95s. Great looking and super supportive!

I have a set of soft backs for sale but they come with the car
I also have a set of 944 turbo sport seats for sale for $1k in tan (I don't think they are leather)
looking at these pics they don;t look like sport seats but I can assure you they are.

those are great seats! i love the big bolstered seats from the G50/964 period. i bet very few early 993 sport seats like that were produced (with the 993 stitching pattern). hell, might make them more valuable than the later 'sports'.

Ah yes, I stand corrected. 993 specific hardback seats are pricey, but one can get other Porsche seats for much less

The price of hardbacks have remained relatively stable considering the increase in value of the car itself. However, with Rudy buying nearly every set of hardbacks available on/off the market, at some point, they'll become unobtainium.

I actually bought a set of hardbacks from eBay and then painted the backs SY, before I even purchased my Cab. But it did require written prior approval from Rudy.

Trust me I have been searching for quite some time and the ones currently available are being sold at some eye watering prices.

I am not overly concerned about the cost to refinish them as I have the means to recover the seats at a very minimal cost as I will be doing all the work and will just be paying for materials so if you know of a set that is trashed send them my way

This I am aware of but unfortunately for me I am OCD about the period correctness on the seats and would need to stick with 993 specific ones...sucks for me
