The bumperettes were something added to pass some silly DOT mandate for the USA market. They are not part of the original design or on any of the cars from Europe. IMO they are an ugly addition that serve little or no purpose. The clean unadulterated lines of the front bumper without.bumperttes is how the car was intended to be.
One other thing to note is that the holes Porsche cut for the bumperettes aren't in the same location on every car which is why the bumperette plugs have to be fitted for each car. When the Germans start to do something in a half-assed way you just KNOW they were bitter about having to add these warts to their beautiful design.
Another solution is to get Bumperplugs to paint the bumperettes which I had done on the rear of my car but not for the front. It's marginally better but not really a great looking solution for the front IMO.
I found an oil leak at the connection point of the pipes from the oil tank to the oil thermostat(?).
Other than draining the oil tank and get 2 sealing rings to install, is there anything I should be careful?
What causes this leak other than the age of the car?
I noticed lately that the oil level gauge jumps a lot when the oil cooling fan at the right fender kicks in. The needle moves up almost 1/3 to 1/2 way up. The oil level in the tank actually goes up checked using the dipstick.
Any ideas, please?
Is this anything to do with my leak at the joint to oil tank?

New tires. Went with Michelin Pilot Sport AS4’s since I don’t track the car and it’s getting colder, but not that cold because Texas. 225/45’s up front and 255/40’s in the back.

Should be a good choice. They come standard now on the new corvettes. I put some on my X3M last week. Waiting to see how they handle light snow.
