Default What is this switch?

I want to order the center switch to use with a hidden Homelink transmitter as a garage door opener. Anyone know what the part number is?

I have searched for targa switch, targa shade switch, garage door opener switch, defroster, demister, porsche icons, etc.

Thanks,
Max

The ejector button. Only works when roof is fully open of course. Possibly it's been disconnected due to a TSB

PS: Try this http://www.sunsetporscheparts.com/po...rt_name=switch

If you convert that to become your garage door opener, what will you use to control your shade?

Mine's a coupe. I want to use the shade switch because that icon is the closest to looking like a garage door than any other switch.

Hopefully I won't confuse it for an eject button, toaster, currency counter, cash dispenser, cheese grater, typewriter, park bench, classic push lawn mower, toilet paper roll holder...anyone else want to give it try?

Wow. That looks like it is for a fax machine or dot matrix printer.

Perfect choice for a garage opener switch. It actually looks the part. I chose another switch and then removed some of the white ink to customize it for myself. But I like this switch better.

Have you ordered it yet? What is it from and how much does it cost?

That's the switch I used for my garage door opener, as noted it actually looks like an opening garage door.

Be warned though, next you will want the correct trim piece with the identical set of symbols (illuminated of course):

993 632 071 20

My wife conveniently broke the original trim with her brick-filled purse while getting in the car, giving me the perfect excuse to buy the new trim with the shade / garage door symbol above the middle switch. The trim goes great with Tore Bergvil's LED kit btw.

Both the switch and trim can be found on Katalog / PET at illustration 903-05, you can download PDF katalog here if you don't have it already:

I have ordered it from Suncoast. It is from a 993 Targa used to operate the sunshade and costs $59 plus shipping.

It is currently backlogged and the expected in-stock date is 1/11.
