Hello Rennlisters! I'm a long time Rennlist lurker and a recent 993 owner. I was lurking for 8 months while trying to find a targa that I was confident is in good shape and can pass CA emissions. My '96 targa arrived 4 days ago and I couldn't be happier with her!

I plan on wrenching on her myself. The only modifications from POs are lowered springs (don't know the brand yet) and a Fister Stage III exhaust. My plan for near-term wrenching is 1) an oil change, 2) a rear axle boot replacement, 3) troubleshooting whistling noises coming from the roof and 4) swaping the CR-210 radio with a Continental TR7412UB-OR.

In the long term I plan on installing a duck tail and changing the wheels. I want a duck tail solution with a LED brake-light integrated close to the lip of the wing (something similar to the 997 sport classic). Regarding the wheels, I'm currently looking for a set of 17" turbo twist replicas.

I plan on going to the PV Seniors Cars and Coffee on 1/2 and the Pelican Parts C&C on 1/9. Please message me if any 993 Rennlisters plan on attending.

Additionally, please let me know if anyone is selling a targa roof rack. I hear these roof racks are common as unicorns.

I will probably be at both gatherings with a black C2. I usually bring my black lab with me, so I'm easy to spot.

I think this settles it. GR is now my favorite color on a Targa.

Beautiful car and nicely moded with a good stance and Fister III's. There was a recent thread inquiring about duck tails with LED's. I'm not sure they exist for our 993's, and I think the LED's might possibly deter from the classic look of the clean ducktail. In all events, have fun making the car your own, and welcome!
