That's pretty cool. Check this out - from the days when men were men & the peak was loose gravel.
Also worth watching is Walter R from the same era in the S1 Quattro & Sebastian Loeb last year
Cheers

Amazing video and driving. Not sure if any of you are fans of the Youtube channel "/Drive" but some of their "/Engineered" episodes are really sweet and talk about building this car.

And the plus is there is a 993 in the background:

Yes. All the time and quite a few have died. I was at the race this year and saw Zwart make this run. Unfortunately a young man on a bike during practice runs went off course and died. Happens more than people like to admit

Apparently all the drivers survived. Not sure about the spectators though.

Totally!

The best part was his calm reaction when he heard the news and totally professional.

Tempting. My wife has been really wanting to visit some of the parks in Utah as well.

How ironic - 156 turns and I only saw two guard rails in the Zwart run - why bother?

Love the side view where he's about 6 inches from the edge.

I'm about an hour away from the base of Pikes Peak. If anyone wants to head up this year and watch the race, let me know. We can get a big group together and have a great time. I do not advise taking the 993 though. I took mine last year and its stop and go for hours all uphill and took quite a few miles off my clutch and all the parking is off-road. I am more than willing to head up with a carload of people in my truck. Fantastic race and fantastic people.
