Starting the rebuild process on my 1995 non turbo and was looking to see if I should replace the cam bearings. But when I look in the parts listing I do not see a listing for cam housing bearings, or are they called bushings????
Anyone replace them on their rebuild, or maybe they are not replaceable???

Proper clearance can be verified with an extended telescoping gage to assure proper clearance is within prescribed tolerances.

I would think you would use a dial bore gauge as plastigauge is a bit bush league

Quad,
Given the configuration of the head/valve train, you are absolutely correct, but not for the reason of the methodoly being, "bush league".
An extended snap/telescoping gage would also be a simple, and more economical method for verifying/measuring cam journal bores.

Paul, there is no torquing. The cams slide straight into the cam tower from the end. You would have to use instruments to measure.
