I have a plan.

Here is half of the plan. These 17's give an optical illusion that they are bigger. They are also lightweight. I think they suit the 993, though they suit a darker bodycolour even better.

However, Boxster S II don't suit the 993 IMO

No they are not but the car is painted in special order Crystal Silver, a 944 colour back in 1994.

The 117s look great on the 993. The way you took your photo is very helpful in so much as you show they actual amounts of sidewall all around each tire so the viewer can really get an idea what it looks like.

So what brand are the wheels, the width of front and back rims and the offsets.

Apologies Ron - I thought you'd recognise them.

They are OE BBS 'Sport Classics' - specs. are detailed in TSB 4440 which you can find here:
http://www.pcarworkshop.com/images/3...1998_64028.pdf

I have all three sizes, and the 8.5J fitted to the rear are indistinguishable from the 9J, both wear a 255/40 tire.

7J Fronts in the photo are wearing a 205/50

7J ET 55 - 993.362.124.51 - 8.8 kg
8.5J ET50 993.362.126.55
9J ET 55 - 993.362.128.51 - 9.6 kg

Just to add - on a widebodied 993, you'd need a 25mm spacer, just as the factory fitted to the so-called Cup2 9J ET55 rear wheel as specified for the C2S.

These looks really great!
7J Cup II weights 9,0 kg and the 9J 10,15 kg.

I Will be looking for a set of excellent condition BBS Sport classics myself

I have a set of cup 2 wheels which are ready almost anyway to be refinished to new condition. I might need spacers I'll just have to see how it looks I know the manuals all seem to indicate you needs spacers when you have the 55 offset. My car is a widebody

If your Cup2s were on your C2S, they would have the spacers already fitted? If so you can use the same spacers. And I don't know exactly what size works best on a C2S - that TSB I linked to says 25 or 31mm ?
