Having right hardware helps, and can save a few hundred but I highly doubt they are any different given that they are not original to any 993 being made in 2006.

Having said that, 3k-3500 is the going rate and they are not that easy to come by. I just put a set in and love them. For DD, they might get bothersome to get in/out.
