I recently purchased a 1996 Targa after a phone call from my college roommate in Farmville VA! The owner, his friend, owned it since Nov 2006 after purchase from Porsche dealership in Charlottesville VA. He only put 2500 miles on the car during that time! I acquired it March 2015 without starting or running the car with 29,9950 miles. It had not been started for over three years! We rolled it on the trailer and took it to LMN Motorsports in Virginia Beach. Absolutely everything was done that needed to be done and if questionable it was done! $10,000 later I drove the car yesterday and today. Odometer just turned 30,000. It is awesome. No leaks and repaired the sun screen with new tracks. Dropped by the paint shop today for complete detail and a couple of rubber gasket parts. I will have it back home in one week. I am not repainting and paint work is in good shape and mostly original.
very nice looking targa, but with so few miles why does it not have the original wheels? Or do they come with? I mean those wheels you have are great looking, but not "targa" wheels. Interested in your price...

They are Porsche BBS wheels and it is my understanding the car could be delivered with these. Does anyone know the answer to this question? I do know these wheels were on the car when purchased by the previous owner. I love the wheels but I can't see the brake calipers very well. After the nice work I did on those, I want to see the calipers!!
Those look like 18" Sport Classic IIs which were optional on 993s. I bet the original buyer could have ordered the car that way or had the dealer install them instead of the 17" Targa wheels.
I was wondering if you pulled the trigger on this car after you mentioned it at VIR. Option code 220 is LSD so that's a nice bonus. Get the gauges redone and that would complete it. The needles are faded.

Yes Mark that is the one. I would agree that and many other things could be done. This is one time where I am going to sell without going overboard like I normally do!!
