Default OT - Club Coupe

What do you think? It's kind of doing it for me, as much as I haven't been attracted to a 991 except for the GT3.

If you haven't seen the press release: https://www.pca.org/news/2015-01-21/...gts-club-coupe

I'm planning to enter the lottery to buy one. Would be an interesting decision if I get lucky..keep it and enjoy it or order a GT3. The kind of dilemma about which my 15-year-old self could at best dream.

Nice looking but not for the same price as a GT3.

Tough call. I love the looks of it, and it would probably be more friendly for primarily on-road usage than a GT3. But given the price and the rarity, I'd be afraid to drive it. Seems like they are destined to be low-milage garage queens from day 1. Still it looks great and I'm sure it hauls butt!

One day when its worth $300k because its blue and rare we'll all wish we grabbed one. I'd rather have a 991 GT3 for that money.

With only 59 that are available, I wouldn't add this to there line of 911s with it being so rare. 90% of these cars will go in collections and never be driven.

I'm with you that they'll all or nearly all end up simply as collector cars that won't be driven. Shame, really.

I woke up thinking it's hypocritical for the PCA to be involved in creating such a limited car. Seems as though the better move would have been to make it an option package available for order by any PCA member.

I love that color and the duck tail. Maybe the play is order a paint-to-sample GT3 in that or the Azurro from the last Club Coupe.

My plan is to win the give-a-way raffle for car #1 and then drive it as much as I please. When else would I get a chance like that?

It is better looking than the gt3 IMO, but I would still prefer a GT3. As a collector, I'd buy this. Anything with the word "club" in it, will be worth money.

Beautiful car, but the 997 gt3 still does it for me.

Well, a funny thing happened yesterday, I got the call (well, email actually) from PCA National that I'd been selected as one of the 59.

****.

I kind of liked this better as a hypothetical exercise than an actual decision.

I said 'yes' and now need to figure out what to do. I think it'd be a minor miracle if these go up in value in the foreseeable future, BUT it is the last of the non-turbo 911s. I guess there's symmetry in having the last of the air cooled 911s and the last of the non-turbo 911s. Plus it's hella good looking.

Congrats!! I've seen the car in person and it's stunning. You won't be disappointed.

From what I've been told, the cover of the March issue of Panorama has the exact color representation of the car. They actually sent a paint swatch to the printing plant to make sure it reproduces exactly as it looks in the flesh.

Thanks! It seems others who've seen the car in person have the same reaction, which is really comforting. Looks to be a total head-turner.

I hate the red accents...makes it look like a VW GTI. If I wasn't comfortable driving it I wouldn't want to own it. So I'll enter the raffle for the free one. And if I win, I will sell it and buy my original 993. Alternating between the 996 and 993 would be a perfect world for me, and I'd come up with something to do with the rest of the money.

I already registered for the chance to buy one but I doubt the dealer will accept my low ball offer. I think the lesson is that Porsche should offer a better choice of colors in their regular cars. Club Coupe, GT3, etc., none of them are really good choices for the streets of Los Angeles.
