Has anyone else used different lube besides the Marine grade on the worm shaft and wheel? Same grease on the inner cable?

I use Phil Wood waterproof grease when I rebuild these gearboxes.

It's all here. I no longer use epoxy, but rather the Loctite 495 referenced in the thread.

Hello, did you use a very thin bead of ShoeGoo? Do you think it would hold up in a hot environment?
