Post Cracked fog light..

One of my fog lights has a crack in it and I am going to replace it soon. Anyone know how much this part costs. I have a 1997 C2S.
The reason I ask is because I am considering getting the front brake cooling kit from Gert (what is Gert's website btw, I can't seem to find it.)
The front brake cooling kit is about $700 which seems expensive to me. But if the fog light is also expensive than it makes sense to me to get the kit.

Any opinions on the kit?? How well does the light work on that front brake cooling kit? Is that a RS mod or just an aftermarket part?
Thanks

B-line

Believe we have an advertising/classifed section on this web site; pick up a phone and call a few of them.

I am assuming all you need is a lens and not a total light assembly; shouldn't be much more than $25 is a guess.

Same crack- different problem. How do I convince the wife that it's better to buy Gert's kit (and the nose too) than it is to spend 25 bucks and replace the lens?

You can't buy the fog light lens as a seperate part.

Gert's right..

I called Porsche to get a price and a replacement light is about $175.
I want to get the Gert Kit but first I have to sell my stoptech brakes for an Audi S4....

So, I'm just going to wait and see if the brakes sell for a realistic price. If yes, Gert here I come..

Hi:

I had a cracked fog light on my 964. They don't sell the lens separately, so I had to buy a whole assembly. Cost $190.00. I doubt it's any different on a 993.

Hey B-line,

Which Porsche dealer did you call? If you called your local dealer, you can do much better at either Hendrick or Sunset Porsche. For example, I bought a new right-rear taillight for my car last fall from Vertex. Thought I got an okay price, only to learn a short while later that I could have saved about $50 buying it through Sunset (15% above dealer cost). Recently bought a new climate control unit for my car, and at $760, saved nearly $400 (!) by getting it from Hendrick, as compared to what the local dealer wanted ($1130).

Both Hendrick and Sunset advertise in Excellence.

Best of luck!

Dang! Checking my parts microfiche Gert's right! What a design!!!

Could try junkyards - er "recyclers". Also, I have had good luck with the following dealers:

Hoehn (La-La land) - 800-607-2225
Stoddards' (Cleveland, OH) - 800-342-1414
